Beautiful Orient Bay - a long, pretty beach. Gorgeous walks & swims. Hotel- Nice room & patio. Nice pool. Nice continental breakfast.

Not a true kitchenette. Just 2 burners/warmers, 1 small pot and 1 small fry pan. No utensils for cooking. Cats roaming in & all around hotel, Beach chairs for use limited to behind first row (water) and strictly enforced - even on slow days.

Great location practically on the beach, close to many restaurants and a supermarket. Very friendly staff. Pleasant breakfast in the garden.

The kitchen was old and missed basic equipment - no cutting board, bowl etc.

The staff was very accommodating and you can't beat the location. It's steps to the beach, restaurants and other resources. The breakfast is a nice touch and the extras are reasonably priced. We will definitely return.

This location is right on the beach and our room had a view of the ocean - it was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and accomadating. There were good restaurants of many types within a short walk as well as a few stores. A great continental breakfast was included with the room

The location was spectacular really close to beach and restuarants.

The bed was hard to sleep on and the shower was not good. More water went on bathroom floor then in shower.

Breakfast was great. Service overall was very good.

The shower curtain needs to be replaced with one that keeps the water in. There needs to be a better light in the room. The small ones just weren't quite enough.

CATS . The hotel has far too many cats which the management ask visitors expressly not to feed. The request is ignored by guests who leave food outside their door. The advice is ignored by kitchen staff who feed and stroke the cats whilst serving food. We saw vomit on the stairs and feaces round the swimming pool. The cat population around this hotel is a problem which will only get worse

We loved Alamanda. Many of the problems in past reviews have been corrected in our opinion. Wifi was excellent. Room was freshly painted. The staff was very helpful. Room was quiet . We were upstairs and had a view of the sea and the pool. The food in the village a few feet away was wonderful. Cheaper food in the small cafes and a little store to buy food. You do not need a car. Breakfast was super. We loved it and have booked for two weeks next year.

Beds are hard but we were fine with it . The resort is quiet but that is part of what we loved. You can find the party down the beach. The items in the small kitchen could be easily expanded to make it more functional . I.e. Cutting board sharp knife . Manager got one for us when we asked.

We had room 205. Internet was good most of the time. The room was spacious with a large balcony. The kitchenette was practical with a handy two burner stove top and a microwave. The fridge kept things cool. The bed was firm but comfortable. The location is superb just a very short walk to the beach or to a number of good restaurants. There is a bakeshop and a very handy grocery store making it quite easy to spend a week without leaving the hotel area. Breakfast was good. It consisted of a fresh fruit salad bread basket and choice of juice. There were a number of options to purchase if you wished a heartier breakfast. We were given cards which gave us access to two beach chairs and an umbrella at the beach each day. There was never a problem getting a chair.

The bar/restaurant north of the property at times played loud music. Fortunately if did not last for too long.

Great location, convenient to beach, restaurants and grocery store. Room was very nice. We stayed in Room 118, and the Wifi reception was fairly good. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Due to an East Coast snow storm which caused our return flight to be cancelled, we were easily able to extend our stay to 12 days instead of the week we originally planned. Beach is one of the best in the Caribbean, a wonderful place to just chill. If I visit Orient Beach again, I will likely stay at the Alamanda again.

I killed an inch-long roach in the bathroom our first night, which was a little disconcerting and caused me to store our luggage off the floor for fear we might take home some unwanted guests. No problems the next 11 days with insects, and considering that we were on the ground floor, it probably is unavoidable that some insects will occasionally get in.

Great location, very helpful staff, very quaint and pleasant atmosphere. Feels like an island home not a formula resort. great continental breakfast.

Beds need new mattresses, water pressure is spotty.

Excellent location. Just about anything you would need is within a 2 min walk. The beach, dining, light grocery, drinking, etc. We had a nice view of the bay. Our room had its own wireless access point with good wifi. The kitchenette is adequate to do some light stovetop cooking. The free breakfast (fruit & danish) is complimented with a reasonably priced egg or omlette & bacon add on. There is a nice pool that's open 24/7 if you want to take a dip.

Our only complaint would be the bed. We had a King Room w/ view, and our bed felt like we were sleeping on the box springs. If you like an extra firm sleeping surface, you'll love it. We do not. When we go back (and we will), something will have to be figured out for sleeping comfort.

Spacious rooms; 50 meters to the sandy beach; continental breakfast is free; refreshing soft water pool; good recommendations for a car to rent

Pillows are disaster; the beach is overpopulated, hotel guests are required to stay at the 3d row of sunbeds - the closer ones are permanently "reserved (?)"; noisy & smelly neigbours on the left wing of the hotel - 6 (!) big restaurants

This property is perfectly located on Orient Beach. Fabulous area, lots of amazing restaurants and activities within walking distance. Staff very nice and helpful. Ask to be on second level with view of ocean, totally worth it. Nice breakfast daily and server Eric is great.

It deserves the 3 star rating. You are paying for its excellent location and view. The rooms and facilities are in need of a more regular maintenance program and a significant refurbishment. Window coverings are torn and stained, mattresses very old and worn. With very little investment this property could be lovely and rank higher.
